![]() I also save all the hay that I get in the mail or that I get from festivals, and that's sitting in a chest as an "emergency backup" in case I'm not able to fill the silos by the end of Fall. If the trough in your coop / barn has at least one open space, you can pull out hay in stacks equal to the amount of open spaces. ![]() For the animal bundle you will need to see Robin 4 times (Coop, Barn, Coop/Barn upgrade 1, Coop/Barn upgrade 2). My guess is 1 Heater for every 4 Pets in a Coop or Barn, but I saw some sad Pets in Winter with just 3 Heaters so I threw in 4 and now theyre always happy as far as I know. I think in general terms the best time to start getting your coop/barn upgrades for a relaxed but efficient CC playthrough is around the 10th of summer. I don't bother pulling hay out of the silos. I usually chuck 4 Heaters in Deluxe Coops and Barns to keep everyone happy. They can eat either fresh grass (if allowed outside) or hay (if kept inside or are unable to find grass). ![]() Farm animals who live in barns and coops need to eat every day, one 'portion' per animal. Do this all year long and you should be able to fill all 5 silos without a problem by the end of Fall. Technically, you only need 1 if youre willing to buy hay (which you can manually add to the silo) to get through winter. If 2 or more Coops or Barns are built, animals can be relocated by clicking on the animal and choosing the house icon. To make sure everything is full up by the end of Fall you'll want to do as Ereo suggested, occasionally thinning it out with the scythe (and I use the golden scythe as you get more hay from it), then letting all the holes you punched in it have a chance to grow back before doing it again. The animals rarely get past the statues, too. Each silo holds 240 hay, for every animal you have youll need 28 hay per Winter, so one full silo holds enough hay for about 8.5 animals. If you go to the showcase and take a look at my Amethyst's Purple farm you can see how much open space I have in the most recent screenies, and just know that all of that open space has grass growing in it when it isn't Winter. I can confirm that 5 silos full at the end of Fall will guarantee you make it through the Winter without having to buy hay. ![]() My beach farm, I have two barns and 1 coop, all of them full. Welcome to the valley You, like millions of other people, have taken the first step of many in what will soon become an enormous adventure. ![]()
